Kristen Crampton, Executive
Director Ms. Crampton holds a Masters Degree in
Rehabilitation Counseling from Northern Illinois University and has worked in the
field of vocational rehabilitation services for more than nine years. She
has direct experience in providing career exploration, job development,
job placement and coaching services to individuals with disabilities.
Prior to accepting the position of Executive Director, Ms. Crampton led in
the development and facilitation of two state and federal grants in order
to increase participation of people with disabilities into the workforce
for PAEP.
As Executive Director of Parents Alliance
Employment Project, Ms. Crampton manages all functions of Parents Alliance
Employment Project as related to the public and administers the policies
adopted by the Board of Directors. Additionally, she secures funding from diverse sources
including government agencies, foundations, private donations and
education districts and associations. She oversees publicity and public
relations activities, including press releases, newsletters and other
materials. Ms. Crampton also participates in community conferences,
committees, business organizations and other networking activities and
serves as an active member of the DuPage Workforce Board. She is a Certified Rehabilitation
Counselor, a certification that establishes a high level of professional
standards and competencies for professionals engaged in providing
rehabilitation services to persons with a range of disabling
conditions.

Roger Joseph B. Cave , Employment
Coordinator
Mr. Cave
holds a Bachelors Degree in Communicative Disorders from Northern
Illinois University and has more than eight
years experience in community outreach and providing direct services
to people with disabilities.
He is dedicated to building relationships with individuals with
disabilities to assist them in improving their lives. Prior to accepting the position of
Employment Coordinator, Mr. Cave worked as the Workforce Investment
Liaison for a state grant to increase awareness of resources for
people with disabilities to utilize in their job search. Before joining Parents Alliance
Employment Project, he worked at two other Chicagoland organizations that
provide services to individuals with disabilities.
As Employment
Coordinator of Parents Alliance Employment Project, Mr. Cave provides
direct supervision to Employment Specialists while still providing
thorough vocational services to people with disabilities. He also participates in community
committees and other networking activities. Additionally, Mr. Cave is the
younger brother of someone with Down Syndrome and severe mental
retardation.

Paul
Engman, Employment Specialist II
Mr. Engman has
a background that includes experience in retail, finance and supported
employment, giving him insight into the needs of business and those of
employees with disabilities. To PAEP, Paul brings a passion for
advancing vocational and educational opportunities for individuals with
disabilities. He has more than nine years of fieldwork experience
focused on transitioning young adults with disabilities into competitive
employment and community lives. He is also the editor of the PAEP
newsletter, It’s Working. Please contact him with any comments or
suggestions for future topics. Paul is a member of the Chicagoland
Provider Leadership Network, the Arc of Illinois and the Association of
Persons in Supported Employment. He holds a Bachelors of Arts degree
in English literature with a minor in Education.

Jim Marino, Employment Specialist
II
Mr. Marino has over four years experience in providing direct
services, outreach, and job skills coaching to people with disabilities
with PAEP. Before joining
PAEP, Mr. Marino had extensive experience in the field of employment and
training. Jim has more than
30 years experience with the Illinois Department of Employment Security,
in the management of employment programs at the local office and regional
levels. Jim has served on the
Workforce, Employment, and Training boards in DuPage, Kane, and McHenry
Counties. Jim is active in the DuPage
community, currently serving on the Board of Trustees for the Joliet
Diocesan Chapter of the Knights of Columbus, and is an active member of
the Career Services Business Leaders Advisory Council at the College of
DuPage. Jim holds a Bachelors Degree in
History with a minor in Education.

Ami
Chambers, Employment Specialist II/Community
Liaison Mrs. Chambers
began working with Parents Alliance Employment Project in September of
2004. She comes to the
organization with a Bachelors degree in Communications and a minor in
Psychology from Northern Illinois University and several years
experience in fields such as library services, retail and restaurant. She is committed to bringing the
best possible services to individuals with disabilities and employers
alike to achieve the goal of long-term success on the job. Ami also facilitates several of
the job-readiness workshops along with managing registrations for all
workshops. As part of her
position, Mrs. Chambers worked as a Teacher’s Assistant for the
College of
DuPage Vocational Skills Courses
and serves as a member on the Advisory Board for these
courses. Ami has experience
in community outreach and providing career counseling and job development
services to people with disabilities. She also acts as the “point
person” of the organization, being the information and referral source for
jobseekers with disabilities that pass through the workNet DuPage Career
Center.

Becky White, Business
Development Specialist Ms. White joined Parents Alliance
Employment Project in July 2007 as an Employment Specialist. She holds a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, with minors in Spanish and Latin
American Studies from Augustana College. Becky has more than six years of
experience in fields such as customer service, community outreach, and the
restaurant industry. As an Employment Specialist, she provided direct job
readiness and coaching services to adult clients. Becky also facilitated
job-training sites for area high school transition programs. Becky is
currently working under a grant through the Illinois Council on
Developmental Disabilities as a Business Development Specialist. She
incorporates outreach, recruitment, training, technical assistance, and
on-going support activities to businesses resulting in a change of company
culture, attitudes, practices, and policies. Ultimately, the businesses
will demonstrate a new willingness to hire individuals with developmental
disabilities.

Jessica Gilliam, Employment Specialist
I
Ms. Gilliam joined Parents Alliance
Employment project in February 2009. She comes to the organization with a
Bachelors degree in Psychology from Northern Illinois University. Prior to
working at Parents Alliance Employment Project, Ms. Gilliam spent over two
years as a Technical Recruiter, where she was responsible for recruiting
qualified job seekers for a variety of permanent and contract positions
with local companies. Through her previous experience, Ms. Gilliam
acquired knowledge in a variety of industries including: manufacturing,
distribution, engineering, technical, accounting, finance, and clerical.
As an Employment Specialist, Ms. Gilliam is responsible for serving adults
with disabilities by providing a variety of career services that will
result in successful employment opportunities. In addition, Ms. Gilliam
facilitates local job training sites at Hyatt Lodge and Springhill Suites
for High School District 88 to teach students with disabilities a
foundation of real-life work skills.

Jenna
Simpson,
Employment Specialist I
Mrs.
Simpson began working with Parents Alliance Employment Project in January
2010 as an
Employment
Specialist. She comes to the
organization with a bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation
Services
from Northern Illinois University. Jenna currently works under the
American Recovery
and
Reinvestment Act. Through
this grant, Jenna provides high school transition students with job
development,
job-readiness and job coaching services. Jenna previously worked with
youth with
disabilities
in 2009 through the Summer Youth Employment Program.
